St. James Methodist Kindergarten is an interdenominational Christian preschool housed at St. James United Methodist Church for children ages 2 to 5 years. St. James Kindergarten has been loving, nurturing, and teaching young children since 1963.

Students enrolled in our program represent a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and religions. The staff at St. James exemplify lifestyles based on Christian beliefs that are modeled in daily interactions with our students.

Children in the 3K-5K classes attend a worship time bi-monthly that is led by our pastor. This special time includes meaningful, age-appropriate lessons based on Biblical principles. 

Available options for the 2023-2024 school year:

• Morning 5K Kindergarten program
• Morning Early Education program for 2's, 3's, and 4's

Times to remember:

• Early drop-off begins at 8:00 am
• All classes begin at 8:30 am
• 2K, and 3K classes finish at 11:30 am
• 4K and 5K classes finish at 12:00 pm
• We follow the District 6 school year calendar

• There will be a limited number of children accepted for each class on a first-come, first-served basis. When a class is filled, children registering after that time will be placed on a waiting list until the numbers justify creating an additional class or until a spot becomes available. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs.
• The director cannot place a child in a class unless the registration fee has been paid.
• Teacher requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
• Children enrolling in the 3-year-old and older classes must be potty-trained.
• When placing children in classes, we follow the S.C. State Department of Education guidelines requiring children to be age-appropriate by September 1 for the particular class they are enrolling in.
