The Scouting program at St. James is one of its most important ministries to the community.
Scouting provides educational opportunities for both boys and girls to take part in an active program of leadership development, service, and outdoor activities.
Boy Scout Troop 28
Troop 28 Palmetto Council No. 549, Boy Scouts of America was originally chartered on October 10, 1958, by St. James United Methodist Church. Boy Scout Troop 28 remains a very active troop in the upstate of South Carolina. We meet at St. James United Methodist Church every Tuesday Night at 7:00 pm through May 12, 2022.

Cub Scouts Pack 28
The Cub Scout program provides fun and adventure while building character and instilling values. Campfires, hiking, camping, Pinewood Derby racing, and service projects are just the tip of the iceberg. Do you have a boy in 5K - 5th grade who wants to learn new things and have fun with other kids? Come visit us! Pack 28 meets on Monday nights at 6:30 pm in the StJUMC Scout Hut.
Girl Scouts
The Girl Scouts of South Carolina - Mountains to Midlands Troop 2692 meets here at St. James.
